Job Summary: As a Journeyman Plumber, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining pipes, fixtures, and other plumbing used for water distribution and wastewater disposal in residential, and commercial settings. You will work independently or as part of a team, ensuring that projects are completed efficiently, safely, and comply with plumbing codes and regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Installation and Repair: Install plumbing systems (e.g., water, sanitary, drainage, and gas lines) according to blueprints, specifications, and applicable codes. Repair or replace broken or malfunctioning components.
- Inspection and Testing: Inspect plumbing systems to assess their functionality and identify necessary repairs. Test pipes and fixtures for leaks and other issues using pressure gauges and other equipment.
- Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning drains, replacing washers, and repairing faucets. Maintain tools and equipment in good condition.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and troubleshoot plumbing issues and develop effective solutions.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with plumbing codes, safety standards, and regulations. Obtain permits and inspections as required for plumbing installations and repairs.
- Documentation: Keep accurate records of work performed, including materials used, labor hours, and project details.
- Customer Service: Communicate effectively with clients to understand their plumbing needs and explain proposed solutions. Provide excellent customer service and ensure customer satisfaction.
Requirements:
- Journeyman License: Valid journeyman plumber license
- Experience: Proven experience as a journeyman plumber or similar role.
- Knowledge: Thorough knowledge of plumbing systems, materials, and tools. Familiarity with plumbing codes and regulations.
- Skills: Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings. Good communication and customer service skills.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in various environments (e.g., confined spaces, heights).
Work Environment:
- Work may be performed indoors or outdoors, in residential, and commercial settings. May involve exposure to various weather conditions and physical hazards.
