Pines of Sarasota is currently seeking qualified candidates for the role of Unit Manager.
The Unit Manager reports to the Director of Nursing and coordinates the provision of care and services, clinical oversight, and the management of staff performance in conjunction with the DON/ADON. The Unit Manager is required to work collaboratively within the scope of their duties and responsibilities.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides clinical support and oversight for nursing interventions.
- Assists in setting organizational goals with the Director of Nursing.
- Collaborates with the Clinical Case Manager and Care Planning Team for timely and accurate care planning.
- Ensures nursing notes reflect resident care and addresses concerns with the team.
- Conducts rounds to monitor nursing standards and identify areas for improvement.
- Evaluates and enhances staff skills through education.
- Tracks short stay residents and discharge planning.
- Monitors infection control and participates in regulatory processes.
- Participates in quality improvement and staff development.
- Acts as a liaison with residents' families.
- Assists in counseling or discipline of staff as needed.
- Promotes a safe and home-like environment for residents.
Requirements:
The ideal Unit Manager candidate will meet the following requirements:
- Must be a graduate of an accredited School of Nursing, College or University.
- Must possess a current, unencumbered license to practice as a Nurse in Florida- Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse
- Nursing management experience in a long-term care setting is preferred.
- Must understand the social, psychological, physical, and leisure needs of the residents as well as the governmental regulations for long-term care facilities.
