Pelham hospitality is hiring a pastry cook at our Pelham on the Rise Bakery!
Responsibilities of the Pastry Cook include but are not limited to the preparation and baking of menu items such as breads, pastries, cookies, cakes, plated desserts, ice creams etc. for the various restaurants.
· Can accurately read and scale recipes in any unit of measure
· Handles, stores, and rotates all products properly
· Stocks and maintains par levels of food products
· Works consistently with good time management skills
· Works well on a team in a high paced environment
· Takes notes and follows instructions well
· Maintains a clean and sanitary workstation
· Follows proper plate presentation and garnish set up for all dishes
· Completes required tasks within assigned time frames
Qualifications:
- 2 years or more of experience in the culinary field• High school diploma or equivalent vocational training certificate.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English with guests, co-workers, and management personnel
- Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations, including recipe conversions
- Ability to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed, and accuracy
- Ability to prioritize, organize, and follow through with assigned tasks.
- Ability to be a clear thinker, remain calm and resolve problems using good judgment
- Ability to work well under the pressure
- Demonstrates good knife skills
- Ability to properly follow all processes that are in place
- Ability to lift 50 lb. and stand for long hours
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Temporary
Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
