Pediatric Dental Anesthesia Associates seeking a registered nurse with experience in pediatric, surgical intervention/anesthesia, and/or critical care to join our team as a lead nurse. We are a concierge practice and ask that you have a professional appearance and dynamic personality!
Job Summary:
The clinical team lead plays a critical role in ensuring high-quality patient care. This position involves detailed scheduling, supervising daily nursing activities, managing pre-operative and post-operative communication, upholding quality improvement standards, and leading customer service excellence. The clinical team lead also communicates and works regularly with the anesthesiologist to coordinate care and maintain operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Staffing
- · Scheduling: Organize and schedule nursing staff two to three months in advance using Google Calendar, adhering to established protocols.
- · Staff Communication: Regularly communicate with nursing staff to confirm schedules and notify of any changes promptly.
2. Daily Activities Support
- · Daily Coordination: Facilitate daily briefings (nurse handoff) with the nursing staff to discuss the daily checklist, patient scheduling challenges, and specific patient needs.
- · Pre-Operative Preparations: Ensure all pre-operative requirements are completed a day ahead and send NPO instructions via text for the following day's patients.
- · Post-Operative Follow-ups: Conduct post-operative calls and texts to patients from the previous day to assess their recovery status.
- · End of Day Review: Confirm the completion of daily tasks and identify any outstanding issues with the nursing staff each day.
3. Pre-operative and Post-operative Care
- · Pre-ops Management: Guarantee that all pre-operative preparations are completed at least one week in advance. Follow up on any required medical records or reviews of medical history.
- · Post-ops Quality Improvement (QI): Ensure post-operative calls are conducted, and quality improvement protocols are followed as per the medical director’s preferences.
4. Quality Improvement
- · QI Monitoring: Oversee the completion and accuracy of quality improvement data and follow-up actions. Documents data in QI spreadsheet timely.
- · Quarterly staff meetings: Attend and participate in quarterly GoTo Training meetings on camera.
5. Customer Service
- · Service Excellence: Uphold the highest standards of customer service within the nursing department.
- · Social Media Engagement: Manage and execute regular social media posts to enhance the company’s public presence and patient engagement.
- · Relationship Management: Maintain excellent relationships with all dental staff, dentists, and other professionals.
6. Communication with Anesthesiologist
· Weekly Updates: Provide updates on staffing, daily activities, and pre-operative preparations to the anesthesiologist.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- · RN, paramedic or EMT license required.
- · BLS required. ACLS or PALS preferred.
- · Strong organizational and communication skills.
- · Proficient in using Google Calendar and other scheduling tools.
- · Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- · Excellent interpersonal skills and a strong commitment to customer service excellence.
