Supervise dental students and/or residents in patient care activities at WesternU The Dental Center or other CDM locations. Working with clinic administration, ensure an efficient, humanistic and patient-centered clinic operation providing high quality care to patients. Educate students according to standards of the College of Dental Medicine (CDM). Provide direct treatment to patients in a broad range of general dentistry services as required for operational success. This is a full-time position in conjunction with an administrative appoitment.

1. Recognized knowledge and experience in a broad range of general dentistry diagnostic and treatment services.

Required Qualifications
1. Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or equivalent.
2. Active California dental license or be qualified to obtain licensure or faculty special permit in California.
3. Must have a valid Driver’s License
4. Must maintain a Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) that satisfies the requirements of the WesternU Vehicle Use Policy.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Completion of a residency program in General Practice Residency or Advanced Education in General Dentistry.
2. Minimum 3 years of clinical practice experience.
3. Experience in supervising students and/or residents providing patient care in an academic setting.

1. Supervise, assist, and teach students and/or residents in diagnosis, treatment planning, and performance of all phases of general dentistry including digital dentistry, removable prosthodontics, endodontics, surgical extractions, and treatment of medically complex patients.

3. Maintain calibration with and set an example for students and/or residents by following CDM clinical and administrative protocols and procedures.

3. Participate in the credentialing / privileging process, Quality Assurance Program, and treatment outcomes monitoring and evaluation systems related to patient care.

Work Schedule
Hours are usually 8am-to5pm with a possibility of an earlier start. Some evenings and weekends may be required. Travel between CDM Clinical sites currently located but not limited to Pomona, El Monte, Chino Hills, and Rancho Mirage may be required.

Duties are routinely performed in an environmentally controlled interior healthcare office. Work environment may involve exposure to potentially dangerous materials, e.g., blood and body fluids, communicable diseases toxic substances, and ionizing radiation. Clinical environments require compliance with safety precautions, OSHA Blood borne pathogen training, and may include the use of certain personal protective equipment.
Duties are normally performed in a large multi-chaired clinic. The noise level in this setting is usually moderate due to the open design of the clinic.
