Job description
Eden II is looking for a Behavior Intervention Specialist (BIS) to work at our adult dayhab program! The Behavior Intervention Specialist (BIS) conducts functional assessments and develops behavior intervention plans to treat problem behavior for our autistic adult participants. Responsibilities also include conducting/overseeing staff training, collecting and analyzing behavior data, maintaining clinical paperwork as regulated by state, assisting in development of skill acquisition goals and reporting case progress to supervisors.
Responsibilities Include:
- Development of behavior intervention plans for adult participants
- Assessment of problem behavior for individuals on assigned caseload
- Ensure that behavior intervention plans and related teaching procedures are aligned with best practice and empirically supported treatments
- Provision of staff training as related to behavior plan implementation. This will include staff training across program sites as needed
- Presenting assigned cases to the behavior management and human rights committees as needed
- Provide clinical support to the QIDP's across assigned programs
- Maintain knowledge in the field through review of empirical literature and attendance at professional conferences
- Coordinate oversight (with nurse /AMAP staff) of pharmacological interventions for participants on the assigned caseload
- Encourage and enforce active and functional engagement of participants across programs
- Ensure that teaching and direct care staff are adhering to current behavior management policies and procedures
Job Requirements:
- Master's degree in an applied field of psychology required
- At least 5 years of experience developing and overseeing behavior intervention plans for individuals with developmental disabilities
- Knowledge of applied behavior analysis with documented training in assessment techniques and behavior intervention planning
