The Cincinnati Insurance Company seeks a material damage auto appraiser in Massachusetts. This is a full-time position responsible for all aspects of the damage appraisal process, auto reinspections and auto total loss valuations in Massachusetts and surrounding areas as needed.
Starting Pay: The pay range for this position is $55,000 - $92,000 annually. Pay is based on the applicant’s education, experience, location, knowledge, skills and abilities. Eligible associates may also receive an annual cash bonus and stock incentives based on company and individual performance.
Be ready to:
- conduct in-person inspections of vehicle damage as part of the claim adjustment process
- complete auto damage appraisals and reinspections according to state regulations
- perform total loss analysis and obtain market valuations
- support the Claims department by serving as a technical resource to associates on vehicle repairs, alternative parts utilization and total loss conditioning
- on occasion, complete quality assurance audits on staff adjuster auto repair appraisals
Be equipped with:
- expertise in auto nomenclature, design, technology, construction, damage analysis and repair techniques for body panels and unibody/frames
- effective verbal and written communication skills
- expertise in damage analysis and appraisal for trucks, motorhomes, travel trailers, motorcycles, snowmobiles and specialty equipment (preferred)
- the ability to provide prompt, personal claim service
- the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while meeting and maintaining predetermined service levels
- the ability and willingness to adapt to change and new responsibilities
- a Massachusetts appraiser’s license and certification
- proficiency in the use of auto repair estimating software
Bring education and experience from:
- a minimum of three years of auto repair estimating
- a minimum of two years of Claims department experience (preferred)
- I-CAR, ASE or technical school training (preferred)
- experience using Microsoft® Office products, including PowerPoint, Word and Excel (preferred)
