JOB SUMMARY:
This position performs specialized professional and technical work for the procurement and contracting of all goods, services, and construction requirements; performs responsible administrative functions and tasks toward the establishment, maintenance, and compliance of current purchasing policies, regulations, and procedures in accordance with the Virginia Public Procurement Act. This position exercises ability to employ innovative processes; makes and implements complex decisions; impartially and objectively awards contracts; supervises, plans, organizes, monitors, and evaluates the technical work of subordinate staff performing various procurement functions. Work is performed with considerable independence and is reviewed by the Administrative Coordinator or Supervisor of Purchasing.
