Muth Lighting Division (Remote):
Position Summary/Objective: Participate in the concept and advanced development of electronic products for commercialization at the direction of customers and internal initiatives. The Advanced Electronics Engineer is responsible for the development and support of advanced PCB design and developing sourcing packages in a timely fashion, Be up to date on technologies available, and development of new technologies, creation of physical properties, sales and quoting support, participating in new technology research, participating new technology conventions & expos, traveling with sales team or as needed to OEMs, their studios or their engineering, educating the multidisciplinary teams, creation of new concepts, properties, lighting components. Ability to manage Electronic Service Providers for Design, Development and Manufacturing of Electronic Components. This person will work under the direction of the Chief Technology Officer and interface with sales, software, hardware, purchasing and engineering teams.
The Advanced Electronic Engineer is responsible for providing concept circuit layout schematics with Assembly, Gerber, BOM and Drill Files. Working with the advanced design team for packaging and performance input, work with purchasing to support supplier selection and answer electronic questions and sales team to have direct contact with OEM Engineering departs to provide and demonstrate understanding of specifications and present solutions. It is critical to support concept property creation and for identifying new development technologies and innovations.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
Your job responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Aid in design of an innovative products portfolio for Muth Lighting Systems.
- Design new lighting system electronics and products for OEMs next-gen lighting platforms.
- Assist sales team and technical presentations as requested by sales team members.
- Review MMS products and provide recommendations for cost savings and new technology.
- Create and assist with engineering estimates and selecting components for RFQs.
- Review Customer Specifications and design electronics to meet specification.
- Design circuit, schematic, establish BOM and PCBa, (software a plus) assemblies for RFQ and production lighting assemblies.
- Provide technical support purchasing when dealing with PCB vendors to ensure prompt accurate feedback from suppliers.
- Establish Estimated Costed BOM so that Targets Pricing for PCB can be established.
- Knowledgeable in vehicle communication protocol such as LIN, CAN Bus and automotive ethernet and be able to design Muth electronics to communicate with such systems.
- Develop new electrical engineering designs to reduce cost and assembly to aid MMS & MLS for competitive advantage utilizing automation and latest component technology.
- Participate and help with expos, conferences, customer meetings as needed.
- Collaborate with MMS & MLS manufacturing engineering and production teams to ensure manufacturability of designs and support new product launches.
- Learn, utilize, and input your work into our Plex cloud-based operating system.
- Travel as requested and support customers, production, and sales meetings.
- Collaborate with software, mechanical and manufacturing engineering teams along with sales teams.
- Develop embedded software in smart systems.
- Coordinate and manage external resources for advance coding in product.
Education, and/or Experience:
· Bachelor's degree required.
· Minimum 5 years related experience; 10 years preferred.
