Job Summary
A Meat Manager’s first responsibility is to assist the Store Manager in achieving an efficient, profitable operation by providing top-quality products, excellent customer service and increased sales while adhering to the strict procedures of sanitation, proper temperature control, product merchandising, working efficiently and sensibly ordering product for sale. In a smaller supermarket such as ours, duties may also include assisting the Store Manager in other areas of operations when necessary.
Job Description
- Experience Desired: 1+ years working in a retail meat shop environment. Training available.
- Education Desired: High school diploma or equivalent
- Lifting Requirement: Up to 70 pounds
- Age Requirement: At least 18 years of age
- Schedule: up to 40 daytime hours with some weekends and holidays

Job Responsibilities
- Operating the Meat Department by writing orders and maintaining conditions in the department.
- Preparing and stocking a variety of cuts of fresh meat and other meat department products.
- Maintaining levels of product in case and anticipating needs for additional product.
- Ordering product properly to minimize out-of-stocks.
- Assisting in the unloading of trucks and checking in orders.
- Stocking frozen foods and lunch meats.
- Monitoring temperatures in cooler, freezer, meat cutting rooms and cases.
- Understand safety requirements according to the Health Department, HACCP, OSHA, along with our Company's policies and procedures.
- Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of the meat department.
- Working in a safe manner at all times and reporting any safety issues immediately.
- Understand that customer service is a significant part of our business and being friendly with customers and responding to special requests promptly are important.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
