Requirements/Responsibilities
- Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited school of optometry
- Valid state optometry license
- Must have familiarity with electronic medical record systems (we use Modernizing Medicine); maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on patient care
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Perform excellent comprehensive eye examinations in accordance with our practice’s protocol to assess visual acuity and detect any abnormalities or diseases
- Diagnose and manage various eye conditions such as glaucoma, cataracts, and macular degeneration
- Prescribe eyeglasses, prescribe and fit contact lenses, and other visual aids as needed
- Provide pre- and post- operative care for patients undergoing eye surgeries
- Collaborate with the team and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and coordinated patient care
- Compliance with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality
