International Multiple Sclerosis Management Practice (IMSMP) together with our research affiliate, Tisch MS Research Center of New York are currently the largest MS center in the world designed to deliver the very best of applied research and individual-based care for people with MS. We have a full-time staff of over 90 people. From nurses to administrators, neurologists to scientists, our staff is dedicated to ensuring an unparalleled experience at our Center.

International Multiple Sclerosis Management Practice (IMSMP) is seeking a full-time Licensed Master’s level Social Worker for our outpatient medical practice. Our center is dedicated to providing outstanding care for our patients with multiple sclerosis (MS).
The ideal candidate will have compassion, empathy, and the ability to build relationships. Candidate does not need to have prior experience working with individuals managing MS, but a desire to learn. The candidate will work as part of a team.
This is a full-time, on-site position Monday-Friday. Saturdays as needed.
Responsibilities:
Psychosocial Assessment
In-depth, individualized sessions with patients to assess problems in the home environment, relationships, coping, and other needs.
MS Support Groups
Facilitate support groups of our patients in order to help them help each other cope with the diagnosis.
Supportive Counseling
Offer supportive counseling for patients and family members regarding MS issues.
Disability
One-on-one meetings for people who are no longer able to work. Assist in navigating the private, group, and Social Security Disability application process.
Home Care for MS
Assessment and referral to agencies that provide physical and occupational therapy, home safety assessment, and home health aides.
Family Meetings
The arrangement of meetings between patients, their families, and the medical team to discuss their plan of care.
Entitlements Eligibility for MS
Information on government programs that may assist with income and health insurance. Referral to attorneys who specialize in the Medicaid process.
Qualifications:
· Master’s degree in social work
· LSW required
· Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Suite
NOTE: Applicant not able to obtain LCSW hours at the IMSMP.
