We are a nationally recognized non-profit organization that sells new and gently used furniture, appliances, home goods, building materials, and more. All of the proceeds from our store directly help fund the mission of Habitat for Humanity in Washington & Dodge Counties.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work on the sales floor, at the sales counter, operate the cash register, and answer incoming phone calls.
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers and answering questions about products, procedures, and donations.
- Conduct product sales, assist in merchandising, and contribute to the maintenance of the sales floor and facilities.
- Load a variety of bulky items into customers vehicles, trucks and trailers.
REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to frequently and safely lift and move furniture, large appliances, building material, and other bulky items*
*This is a physically demanding position. All applicants should be able to lift 50lbs independently, and potentially more with a teammates assistance. In addition, you will be required to be on your feet for most of the shift.
- Ability to establish, foster and maintain effective working relationships with other staff, volunteers, and the public.
- Ability to arrive at work promptly and dressed neatly in a Habitat for Humanity shirt (provided).
- Demonstrates problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to work independently and on teams to complete projects.
- Must have basic math and cash handling skills, with a focus on accuracy.
- Prior retail and/or cashiering experience preferred, but willing to train the right individual.
