The Safety Program Manager is responsible for managing programs associated with Newrest USA safety management tools. This role supports success by ensuring that systems are functional, driver safety scores are accurately tracked, coaching programs are effective and team members are compliant to expectations. This position reports to the Director of Safety and Training.
General Expectations
- Oversees Lytx program compliance for all Newrest USA units.
- Ensures correct assignment/classifications of safe driving behaviors.
- Coordinates training and expectations for safety and transportation teams.
- Coordinates daily coaching and corrective actions programs. Audits coaching actions for compliance and effectiveness.
- Provides weekly reporting on system KPIs.
- Leverages system data to drive business decisions and continuous improvement.
- Collaborates with Transportation leadership to drive compliance and expectations for system usage.
- Ensures system health through regular fleet audits.
- Coordinates all system installation and repairs.
- Effectively displays Emotional Intelligence, Ownership, and Speed of Execution.
- Practices and promotes the 4 Core Newrest Values: Humility, Simplicity, Efficiency, and Responsibility.
- Maintains a sense of positivity and professionalism in their communications and behaviors.
- Effectively completes all other duties as directed by management.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in a safety-related field preferred but not required.
- 2-4 years of experience in a Safety Manager or similar role.
- 2-4 years of experience in transportation, logistics, or other industry overseeing safety with drivers involved.
- Previous experience in creating safety programs or changing the culture of safety.
- Previous experience managing a team of direct and indirect reports.

Previous experience W/ Executive level planning
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have a valid state-issued Driver License.
- Must be able to pass TSA fingerprinted background check clearance.
- Proven change agent in the culture of safety.
- Must have a strong understanding of OSHA, DOT, and Workers’ Comp laws.
- Must have good knowledge of investigation procedures and root cause analysis.
- Strong ability with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent organizational and motivational skills.
- Outstanding attention to detail and observation ability.
- Strategic thinker with creative and excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Resilient self-starter, who can act independently and learn quickly within a rapidly evolving environment.
- Strong analytical skills for interpretation of data to effectively manage risk.
