Job Summary:
The Food Service Representative/Cashier is responsible for providing genuine customer service by: generating sales, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen, preparing menu items, rotating, stocking/dating product, seasoning and smoking of meats, cash register operations/Point of Sale (EPOS) and loss prevention in adherence with all Company/Store policies including brand and image standards.
Principle Responsibilities:
- Ensure that each customer receives outstanding customer service by providing a customer friendly environment which includes greeting and acknowledging every customer entering the food service area, maintaining outstanding standards, solid product knowledge and all other components of a customer service representative.
- Maintain an awareness of all the products that are on promotion, weekly specials, sale merchandise and advertisements.
- Maintain rotation of stock, proper dating of stock, fast service, follow kitchen regulations, including proper cleanliness. Also, keeping all HPB recipes/brands/preparations/trade secrets confidential.
- Assist with deliveries from vendors, ensuring accuracy of new inventory items coming into the store as well as those being returned.
- Maintaining clean eating areas and keeping front of house stocked and mopped (stock soup area seasonal).
- Adhere to all kitchen policies, procedures, and practices including loss prevention. Maintaining proper food safety handling at all times.
- Communicate any customer suggestions, concerns, or complaints to the manager.
- Any other duties assigned by management.
Essential Job Functions:
- Process information/merchandise through EPOS cash register system, including: retrieving reports, processing credit card transactions, and operating lottery machine.
- Prepare and present all Hickory Pit BBQ menu items as trained. Ensuring proper quality and presentation.
- Communicate clearly with customers and interact with other employees in a team environment.
- Prioritize tasks that need to get done in a short period of time while still providing fast and friendly customer food service.
- React calmly in the event of an emergency situation.
- Read, count, and write to accurately complete shift reports.
- Freely access all areas of the store including cooler, freezer, kitchen, dining, stock areas, and register area.
- Operate and use all equipment necessary to run the kitchen.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $12.00 - $13.50 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 45 per week
