The Community House is seeking a dynamic team-leader to drive awareness and funds in support of our mission. POSITION SUMMARY:
The Director of Philanthropy will support the organization’s mission by providing strategic direction for organizational fundraising initiatives, building relationships with existing and potential donors, and collaborating with the team to establish agency messaging. The Director is focused on growing sustainable resources and the visibility of our mission and is tasked with broadening the organization’s support and revenue base. The Director manages and cultivates individual and corporate donor relationships, oversees fundraising events, and manages the organization’s marketing and communication efforts. The Director will actively engage with team members throughout the organization to learn and share the impact of the mission and is an active member of the Leadership Team. The Director works in close partnership with the Executive Director to develop and execute the goals of the organization’s fundraising and relationship building efforts, in addition to partnering with The Community House Board of Trustees, high school Junior Board members, and serve as the staff lead for the Board of Trustees' Advancement Committee.
This role is a member of the senior leadership team, reports to the Executive Director and directly oversees the roles of: Advancement Manager (FT) and Marketing Manager (FT) and will also closely collaborate with the Grant Writer (PT).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Strategic Relationship Cultivation: Everything we do is about relationships. By forming genuine relationships, we will be successful in implementing a thoughtful fundraising strategy that leads to success in the following areas: individual giving, corporate/foundation gifts, major gifts, planned giving, special events, and grants.
- Annual Planning: Work alongside leadership team and Board of Trustees to establish both annual and multi-year fundraising goals.
- Strategy Development: Produce and deliver an annual fundraising plan to reach financial goals, including long-term goals and multiple short-term projects with clear timelines, responsibilities and accountabilities.
- Staff Development: Provide coaching and supervision to advancement staff and volunteers, investing in the development of both individual and team performance.
- Event Leadership: Lead staff in executing annual fundraising events, including but not limited to a 5K Walk, stewardship events, and an annual gala.
- Measure Success: Assess results and drive growth. Create and report metrics for success across all fundraising activities, using results to adapt strategy throughout the year.
- Marketing/Communications: Lead staff to develop and implement cohesive messaging and branding plan globally for the organization as well as individual events, appeals, and initiatives.
- Database Knowledge: Develop and actively manage the donor database, with the support of the Development Manager, to ensure the integrity of donor information, timely gift processing, functional report preparation, strategic use of data, and accuracy of information.
- Community Relations: Serves as a key spokesperson for TCH; builds and maintains appropriate external relationships and coalitions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A minimum of 5 years of fundraising experience.
- Showcase a proven track record of fundraising success including individual donors, minor and major gifts, event management, donor stewardship, corporate donors, and planned giving.
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience leading and developing staff to meet agency goals.
- Schedule flexibility to attend evening and/or weekend meetings and/or events.
- Degree in business, communications, public administration, or nonprofit management is preferred but not required.
- Working knowledge or ability to learn applicable computer and software systems including:
- Microsoft Office (including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
- Canva
- Trello
- Constant Contact
- CRM systems
COMPENSATION:
- Full-time. 40 hours per week, including occasional weekend and evening hours for programs.
- Salary range of $80,000.00 - $95,000.00 annually.
