We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Geotechnical Engineer to play a pivotal role in the planning, execution, and management of complex geotechnical projects. The successful candidate will possess a strong technical background in geotechnical engineering, proven leadership abilities, and a commitment to excellence in project delivery.
Qualifications: (Your strengths and offerings)
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field; Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering strongly preferred.
- PE license in the state of Florida or the ability to obtain reciprocity.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in geotechnical engineering, with a proven track record of leading projects to successful completion.
- Proficiency in geotechnical software tools and standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to manage client relationships and develop business opportunities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Capacity to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Demonstrated leadership and personnel management experience.
Key Responsibilities:( areas you envision yourself making a meaningful impact on)
- Plan and execute geotechnical investigations, including soil and rock sampling, in-situ testing, and laboratory testing coordination.
- Analyze and interpret geotechnical data for the design of foundations, retaining structures, earthworks, and ground improvements.
- Develop geotechnical baseline reports and provide recommendations for design and construction.
- Lead the geotechnical design process for Civil Works, Commercial, Transportation, Industrial and other infrastructure projects.
- Provide expert advice on geotechnical risk management, slope stability, and settlement analysis.
- Oversee the preparation of engineering proposals, technical reports, and bid documents.
- Serve as a project manager, coordinating with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams throughout project lifecycles.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, best practices, and environmental regulations.
- Mentor and train junior engineers and other technical staff within the geotechnical team.
- Engage in continuous improvement initiatives and remain current with advancements in geotechnical engineering research and practice.
- Network with other industry colleagues; participate and represent the organization at industry events; and assist and lead various business development efforts for the Geotechnical Business Unit.
Physical Requirements:
· Ability to visit and safely navigate construction and project sites.
· Ability to work both in the office and in the field under diverse weather conditions.
