JOB SUMMARY
- Prepare timely financials for construction projects, including balance sheet and income statement on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis
- Consolidation of financials for external reporting purposes (including banks and investors)
- Monthly balance sheet reconciliations and explanations of financial variances
- Ensure effective internal controls, GAAP compliance, and applicable federal, state, and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting
- Hands-on leadership role in advancing and maintaining a comprehensive job cost accounting system
- Submit financial documents to tax accountants to assist in preparing tax returns
- Ownership of audits/reviews through coordination with CPA firms
- Oversee and manage back-office operations including payroll & commissions, accounts payable coordination, construction coordination, and sales & escrow coordination
- Responsibilities include some IT oversight, systems security protocols, and data retention/storage
- Assist CFO with Human Resource administration
- Assist in onboarding new hires through IT setup and employee benefit registration
- Maintain project level pricing in ERP system, including base prices, lot premiums, and incentive promotions
DESIRED CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
- 3+ years production homebuilding accounting experience
- Proficient in use of Microsoft Excel and Word
- CPA or MBA a plus
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and management skills
- Able to prioritize and multitask
- Highly motivated and able to work well independently
