Fleet Manager/Mechanic
Job Summary:
Responsible for overseeing and leading the maintenance, care, and efficient operation of all equipment and vehicles used by our construction company. This includes excavators, directional bore drills, locators, and diesel and gasoline fueled trucks, ranging from 1500’s to 5500’s.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
· Oversees the daily workflow, scheduling, and assignments of the maintenance department.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Coordinates with Project Managers for inspections, repairs, and maintenance on all construction equipment and vehicles.
· Ensures equipment and vehicles are operational and ready for work.
· Maintains files of warranties, records, licenses, inspections, service agreements, and contracts for all equipment and vehicles.
· Maintains the inventory, storage, and distribution of all equipment, including that of the maintenance department. Keeps log of assignment of all equipment and vehicles including working condition of asset when it is returned.
· Provides recommendations for purchases of new equipment and vehicles.
· Responsible for software that tracks repairs, maintenance and preventative maintenance on each vehicle and piece of equipment and maintains a separate file on each.
· Provide reports to management team as requested.
· Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
· Basic understanding of or ability to quickly learn the equipment to be maintained.
· Ability to maintain detailed records, including warranties.
· Ability to understand written directions in manuals and on manufacturer websites.
· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software as required to complete and maintain records.
Education and Experience:
· At least three years’ experience managing the company’s type of vehicles and equipment.
Physical Requirements:
· Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
· Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times.
· Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the facilities.
· Must be able to access all parts of the company’s equipment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
