Join our team at D. Wilson Construction Company as an Assistant Project Manager. In this role, you will assist the Project Manager with the daily administration of contract requirements from job start-up through closeout, demonstrating strong problem-solving abilities. You will be responsible for document control for assigned projects and effectively utilize construction-based software such as Primavera, Sage, Procore, Bluebeam, etc., for daily project administration. This position involves spending time in the field office to support production work on site and may be based in the regional office and/or in the field. You will report directly to the Project Manager.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associates Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in a Construction-related discipline preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of commercial construction experience, with at least 2 years of experience working with a Project Manager.
- Demonstrated experience in managing commercial projects that have increased in size.
- Proficient in reading, writing, and communication skills.
- Understanding of construction plans and specifications.
- Proficient in computer skills, including Microsoft Office and construction-based software.
Supplemental Qualifications:
- Experience and proficiency with Excel, formulas, and spreadsheet building.
- Experience with CPM schedule methodology and schedule development.
- OSHA 10HR Certification.
- LEED Accredited.
Basic Responsibilities & Duties:
- Assist Project Manager with client contract administration.
- Assist Project Manager with submittal and shop drawing review.
- Assist Project Manager with cost control and change management.
- Assist Project Manager with schedule management.
- Assist Project Manager with subcontractor/vendor management.
- Assist Project Manager with project accounts payable and sub/vendor payables.
- Assist Project Manager with client, architect/engineer, and subcontractor relations.
- Assist with supervision of safety and environmental policies and reporting.
- Assist project team with management of the quality control program in the field.
- Assist project team with the closeout process.
- May assist the estimating team in project pursuits and bid day activities.
- May lead small projects under the supervision of the Project Manager.
