Middle School Math Teacher
CMCH Elementary, a private religious school in Sandy Springs, is seeking a passionate, creative, and nurturing Middle School Math teacher. The successful candidate will have experience providing differentiated instruction to students with learning differences, strong interpersonal skills, and experience teaching math at a middle school level.
The teacher will be responsible for understanding and implementing the math curriculum for students to meet standards and benchmarks. The teacher will be responsible for enhancing the academic success of students by providing small group and individual instruction, facilitating active learning and engaging lessons, and vertically aligning to ensure that students are prepared for their next level of learning at the end of the school year.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Establish and enforce rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order among the students for whom they are responsible.
- Observe and evaluate students’ performance, behavior, social development, and physical health.
- Prepare materials and classroom for class activities.
- Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students’ varying needs and interests.
- Plan and conduct activities for a balanced program of instruction, demonstration, and work time that provides students with opportunities to observe, question, and investigate.
- Establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects, and communicate those objectives to students.
- Assign and grade classwork and homework.
- Meet with parents and guardians to discuss their children’s progress, and to determine their priorities for their children and their resource needs.
- Maintain accurate and complete student records as required by laws, district policies, and administrative regulations.
- Prepare students for later grades by encouraging them to explore learning opportunities and to persevere with challenging tasks.
- Guide and counsel students with adjustment and/or academic problems, or special academic interests.
- Prepare and implement remedial programs for students requiring extra help.
- Enforce administration policies and rules governing students.
- Confer with other staff members to plan and schedule lessons promoting learning, following approved curricula.
- Meet with other professionals to discuss individual students’ needs and progress.
- Use computers, audiovisual aids, and other equipment and materials to supplement presentations.
- Prepare for assigned classes and show written evidence of preparation (lesson plans) following CMCH learning practices upon request of the administration.
- Attend professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops to maintain and improve professional competence.
- Attend staff meetings and serve on committees as required.
- Administer standardized ability and achievement tests, and interpret results to determine student strengths and areas of need.
- Serve as a positive role model in and out of the classroom for all students.
- Attend all school calendar events, faculty meetings, orientation, teacher workdays, professional development, and parent-teacher conferences.
- Manage the classroom to foster respect and learning by teaching expectations and modeling respect.
- Behave professionally by maintaining a standard of professional conduct.
- Other duties as assigned, including the development of programs and opportunities that relate to job duties.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
We seek a dynamic teacher who inspires students and who works collaboratively and creatively with colleagues in various curricular areas and divisions. Candidates should be passionate about teaching and have a love for middle school students.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education, a teaching certificate or credential, or equivalent professional experience that would translate to successful classroom teaching. Advanced degree preferred but not required.
- Collaborates well with colleagues of diverse backgrounds on pedagogical approaches, vertical alignment, and instructional strategies.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with all constituents.
- Demonstrates professional behavior, including discretion, judgment, and integrity.
- Effectively interacts with a diverse population of students and faculty.

Pay: $48,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
