We are Craftsman Coffee and are very excited to open our first physical location in Pacifica. Besides being specialty coffee roasters and operators of a vintage coffee truck, we are known for serving the the best hospitality in the area. We are now looking to baristas that are passionate about sharing delicious coffees in our shop.
*Applicants with recent barista experience AND latte art experience are highly encouraged to apply.
* Baristas must be able to comfortably make beverages and lead cash register at some hours.
** Tip averages are at a minimum of 20% of hourly rate. If you possess high customer service, 40% average.
You are:
- Experienced barista (1+ years) that is highly-detail oriented in supporting and maintaining a high-standard cafe.
- Exceptionally patient and caring for clientele whom we like to always know a bit more personally besides a name and drink.
- Passionate care for maintaining a safe, hospitable, and clean, neat work environment for the community.
- Comfortable speaking with all stakeholders and recommending ideas, processes, bringing attention to issues, and solutions.
- Comfortable with greeting and talking to clientele.
- Possess an analytical toolset to review sales and trends. Strong look-back sense to find issues, mitigation, and propose solutions.
- Empathetic and a good listener.
- Comfortable managing long lines and holding a stead-fast beat. Have a meditative mindset.
- Maintains a strong pride in work, clientele, and environment.
- Passionate about service and knowledge of specialty coffee.
- Responsive to goals and in achieving them.
- Excited to work with an small shop with exciting growth while providing a warming space for the neighborhood.
- Latte art experienced a plus.
- HIGHLY AUTONOMOUS and can seek tasks without requiring guidance from a manager.
You will/Responsibilities:
- Build, develop, inspire, and retain an incredible team by listening carefully and sharing feedback.
- Prepare and serve a variety of specialty coffee drinks with excellent hospitality and presentation.
- Dial-in and calibrate drinks before shop opening.
- Promote a safe and respectful working environment.
- Ensure and uphold cleanliness, organization, and food safety.
- Know all products, including ingredients, quality, and the ability to answer questions from staff and clientele.
- Accurately manage the cafe’s accurate cash controls (POS system and cash drawer).
- Completes financial requirements accurately and in a timely manner.
- Is relentless to find ways to drive sales and create new customers.
- Monitors Key Performance indicators and is always looking for areas to improve.
- Always acts responsibly in protecting store assets and facilities by ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
- Communicates efficiently with stakeholders on concerns such as employee engagement, work performance, customer feedback, and areas to improve.
- Able to make decisions in the best interest of the customer as well as problem solve in the absence of the manager.
- Contribute to store goals for achieving sales and improving profits via specific weekly or monthly goals.
- Will be responsible for the opening and/or closing of the cafe with the preparation work necessary.
- Troubleshoot and maintain shop machines on a daily basis and quarterly.
- Lead while not shy away from necessary shop cleaning tasks (loading fresh water, handling grey water, cleaning floors, washing barware, wiping tables, taking out garbage, sweeping, etc)
- Conduct standard maintenance on equipment and troubleshoot standard brewing issues that can occur.
- Confidently up-sell and assist customers in selecting products and sharing product knowledge.
- Keep a very neat, clean bar space during shifts and after shifts for the staff.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.35 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 15 per week
