About the Role:
We are seeking a visionary and results-driven General Manager to lead our Amazon Marketplace business on a global scale. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will spearhead the strategic direction, operational execution, and financial performance of our Amazon presence worldwide. This pivotal role requires a dynamic leader with a proven track record of driving revenue growth, optimizing profitability, and cultivating strategic partnerships within the Amazon ecosystem. Collaboration, communication, and strategic alignment with various teams within Ridge, including Marketing, Operations, Finance, and Legal, will be essential to ensure the long-term success of the channel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Amazon Strategy Development: Formulate and execute a holistic Amazon strategy for each category offering. Actively participate in weekly marketing strategy meetings, reporting reviews, and merchandising planning sessions to ensure alignment with overarching company goals.
- Team Leadership: Lead and empower an existing team of associates, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment. Refine key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure individual and team success, driving accountability and continuous improvement.
- Data-Driven Decision-Making: Harness data analysis and insights to guide decisions spanning the Amazon business spectrum, including sales, marketing, content, operations, logistics, and supply chain.
- Cross Functional Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on initiatives, promotions, demand planning, fulfillment and brand marketing. Partner closely with the product team to align product strategies with Amazon's platform requirements, optimizing product offerings for enhanced visibility and sales performance.
- Revenue Growth: Develop and implement innovative strategies to exceed revenue targets, leveraging insights from competitive analysis and market trends to drive sustainable growth.
- Competitive Analysis: Keep a vigilant eye on the Amazon competitive landscape, leveraging third-party reporting tools to identify growth opportunities and implement tactics for category expansion. Post-Deal analysis and reporting (Prime Day, Prime Exclusive, T5 and all deals).
- Consumer-Centric Approach: Ground our Amazon strategy in a customer-centric mindset by translating data-driven insights into consumer-focused strategies that elevate the overall Amazon Ridge customer experience. All customers who purchase on Amazon are covered under all Ridge CX policies and we want to try our best to communicate that out as we focus on LTV.
- Risk Management: Ensure all new initiatives are planned out in detail to minimize confusion and any potential account risks for all Amazon stores. Leadership should always be aware of how the Amazon team is protecting the health of all accounts.
- Overall Amazon Maintenance: Work with internal team to audit existing PDP catalog for consistent CX (identifying discontinued products, broken pages, image issues/other errors affecting conversion). Partner with Marketing to develop and curate compelling content to attract visitors and promote customer conversion.
Key Qualifications:
- 7+ years of ecommerce experience, with 3+ running an Amazon business. Retail experience preferred for a direct-to-consumer brand.
- Subject Matter Expert for Amazon and Marketplaces best practices.
- Experience managing 3rd Party FBA.
- Experience with Amazon Vendor and Seller Central.
- Experience with Amazon Demand Forecasting.
- Exceptional organizational skills, and ability to work independently and autonomously.
- Demonstrated ability to leverage data for insights and actionable plans.
- Proficiency in data management, activation, and statistics, particularly within the e-commerce and consumer analytics context.
- Exceptional communication and influencing skills - we will want this person to be very excited to speak in meetings and participate in discussion.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, data analysis, and data visualization tools.
- A deep network of Amazon contacts and agencies.
