As a strategic business partner this position provides supervision to the department’s production and serves as a link to department manager.
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.
Summary: Under the direction and guidance of the Department Manager, the Supervisor, Production (Plant) will be overall responsible of overseeing the production and administration of the department. Supervises the daily shift’s operation ensuring productivity and customer demands are met. Responsible for overall quality, maintenance, and staffing.
- Schedules jobs on offset press.
- Responsible in ensuring quality of offset jobs.
- Responsible for assisting crews in troubleshooting minor machine issues to maximize efficiency.
- Approves job tickets and reviews all offset jobs prior to production.
- Aids in layouts with regard to color rotation; match ink for new jobs.
- Responsible for prepress functions and color control process.
- Monitors and supervises production for all shifts and teams.
- Orders the general department supplies.
- Observes crews to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and productivity standards.
- Improve operational effectiveness in the areas of safety, quality, productivity, and culture.
- Responsible for housekeeping of the department.
- Authorizes questionable red stain cartons with regard to color, register, hickeys, color variation and off quality elements.
- Utilizes Lean manufacturing streamline processes and procedures.
- Ensures completion of all required paperwork, schedules, work orders, etc.
- Maintains schedule information and prepare reports.
- Schedules crews to cover four (4) continuous run shifts for Litho and Sheeting
- Works with other departments to ensure shipments of customer product.
- Facilitates and conduct performance annual evaluations.
- Facilitates and conduct progressive disciplinary actions.
- Conducts training and analysis.
- Ensures net speeds are continuously driven and met.
- Ensures GMP and PPE are followed.
- Ensures plant rules and company’s policies and procedures are followed.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Department, Production, or Plant Manager.

- Education and/or Experience- Bachelor’s Degree in Business/related field or equivalent corresponding job-related experience preferred.- At least five (5) years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing industry required- Previous experience in folding carton or sheet fed facility preferred- Strong computer skills- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint- SAP knowledge preferred- Ability to work with a diverse set of personalities- Excellent attention to detail and time management skills- Ability to prioritize work flow- Flexibility in approach and willingness to adapt when necessary.- Proactive and action-oriented personality; comfort within a fast paced environment and a strong sense of urgency.- Ability and experience working productively and proactively both independently and as part of a team. - Strong interpersonal skills, proven problem-solving skills; solution focused.- KBA and Lithography experience a plus
