Summary/Objective: The Architectural Hardware Sales support specialist works with the sales team in all aspects of the sales and presale process. An integral part of the role is the ability to learn about various product lines, stocking, ordering, and receiving products, as well as providing sales support to the sales team. The ideal candidate will be a quick learner, enjoy building relationship with vendors and client, and will become a trusted resource to the sales team.
Essential Functions:
- Ability to learn quickly and keep up to date on new products entering the market.
- Ability and willingness to learn all aspects of the Architectural Hardware department from the ground up.
- Actively collaborate and support the sales team as needed.
- Ability to learn all aspects of the Architectural Hardware sales process including stocking, receiving, and filling orders.
- Work with professionals in the field and learn the process or sell to homeowners, architects, builders, and designers.
- Learn how to do take-offs and job site walk-throughs.
- Ability to learn the point of sales system and all the 30 lines that we carry as well as any additional lines added in the future.
- Stock orders, working in receiving and filling orders.
- Assist with product returns and credits of defective products.
- Adheres to company policies, processes, and procedures.
- Assist in receiving and completing proper paperwork for invoicing.
- Provide support to the outside sales team which may require traveling to job sites.
- Outsourcing and sourcing new sale opportunities through inbound leads, follow-ups, emails and outbound cold calls.
Other Duties:
- Assist with sales at the counter as needed.
- Assist with answering phones as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Competencies:
Reliable transportation, excellent communication, customer service, and follow-up skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment,and able to retain information with keen attention to details. Required to lift to 50lbs.
Required Education and Experience:
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Sales experience in the building industry
- Technical and computer skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and multi-task.
- Exceptional follow up skills.
- Excellent verbal/written communication and organizational skills are essential.
- Strong organizational, project management, and interpersonal skills
Preferred Experience:
- Point of Sales experience
Working Conditions and Physical Demands:
- Indoor - showroom setting
- Physical demands include lifting, carrying, standing, kneeling, and walking,
- The employee must frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving forklifts, noise, vibration, and extreme weather conditions.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time non-exempt position. Typical hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and alternating Saturdays, from 8:00am to 12:00 pm.
Travel: Travel to other showroom locations for training and sales meetings as necessary.
