JOB SUMMARY
The Associate Executive Director (AED) for Adult and Community Services will be responsible for the management & supervision of the agency’s adult and community components, including program operations, fund development and communications, and community organizing and engagement strategy. The AED for Adult and Community Services will strategically liaise between grantors and internal departments, fostering effective communication and collaboration to optimize grant utilization, achieve organizational objectives, and ensure adherence to deadlines. Serving as a member of the organization’s senior leadership team, the AED for Adult and Community Services will ensure quality performance and outcomes, serve as a dynamic representative for the agency, and fully embody the agency’s mission of building underserved communities and acting as a catalyst for change.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Major Duties and Responsibilities

Oversee the strategic planning and execution of adult and community services programs within the agency.

Provide supervision, mentorship, and professional development opportunities for direct reports to foster a high-performing team culture.

Lead the implementation of the community organizing and engagement strategy, which includes engaging with community stakeholders, volunteers, and other program departments to amplify the voices of Riis Settlement and community representatives.

Identify community needs through various means, including conducting community needs assessments, and coordinate efforts with the Evaluation team when required.

Support community engagement work and serve as the primary point of contact for Riis Settlement when exploring new community engagement opportunities, while maintaining records for community engagement.

Aid in the development and management of program budgets, allocating resources effectively to maximize impact and achieve program objectives.

Collaborate with various departments and external partners to identify community needs and develop innovative solutions to address them.

Monitor program performance and outcomes, utilizing data-driven approaches to measure effectiveness and make informed decisions.

Represent the agency at meetings, conferences, and community events, strategically leveraging visibility of programs and advocating for the needs of the populations served.

Cultivate relationships with donors, funders, and stakeholders to secure financial support and resources for program sustainability and growth.

Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, policies, and funding requirements governing adult and community services programs.

Lead efforts to evaluate and enhance program quality, implementing best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.

Facilitate the development of both strategic and annual operating plans.

Prepare a monthly report summarizing the overall status of adult and community services operations.

Assist in compiling reports for Board of Directors meetings.

Provide quarterly and annual reports to government contractors.

Collaborate with the Executive Director and Associate Executive Director- External Relations in the preparation of proposals, solicitation strategies, and reports.
STATEMENT OF SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field required; Master's degree preferred with at least 5 years’ non-profit/social service or related experience, minimum 3 years in a management/supervisory capacity.
