We are seeking a dynamic and experienced HVAC Chairperson to lead our educational institution program . The ideal candidate will be a passionate advocate for education and possess strong leadership skills to guide our team.
Position Summary:The HVAC Program Chairperson is a full-time position responsible for the overall leadership, administration, and management of the Commercial Refrigeration, Heating and Air Conditioning program. This role involves curriculum development, faculty coordination, student advising, and ensuring the program meets industry standards and educational excellence. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Leadership and Administration:
- Provide leadership to the HVAC program, fostering an environment of academic excellence and continuous improvement.
- Develop and implement strategic plans for program growth and development.
- Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring compliance with institutional policies and industry regulations.
· Curriculum Development:
- Design, update, and assess HVAC curriculum to meet industry standards and accreditation requirements.
- Integrate emerging technologies and practices into the curriculum to keep the program current and relevant.
· Faculty Coordination:
- Recruit, hire, train, and evaluate HVAC faculty members.
- Facilitate professional development opportunities for faculty to enhance their teaching skills and industry knowledge.
- Schedule and assign teaching duties, ensuring optimal faculty utilization.
· Student Engagement and Advising:
- Provide academic advising to HVAC students.
- Monitor student progress and attendance and implement support strategies to ensure student retention and success.
- Organize and participate in student recruitment and retention activities.
· Industry and Community Relations:
- Establish and maintain relationships with local businesses, industry partners, and community organizations.
- Represent the HVAC program at industry events, conferences, and community functions.
· Budget and Resource Management:
- Prepare and manage the program budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources.
- Oversee the maintenance and acquisition of equipment and supplies necessary for program operation.
· Accreditation and Compliance:
- Ensure the HVAC program meets all accreditation standards and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and submit reports required for accreditation and institutional assessment.
· Scheduling:
· Full-time position with some evenings and weekend responsibilities
· Occasional travel for industry events and conferences
· Work schedule includes 10-hour days, Monday-Thursdays, and Fridays off; there may be occasions when mandatory meetings or school events are scheduled on Fridays that require attendance.

Education and Experience Requirements:
● Minimum of a high school diploma, associate’s degree preferred.
● Minimum of 5 years of experience in the HVAC industry, with at least 5 years in teaching
● EPA certification required.
● Minimum license requirement as an HVAC Technician
