Catering Coordinator
Position Objective: To assist customers by consulting on the specifics of their catering needs, offering suggestions on appropriateness of catering items, and assisting at scheduled catering events to ensure perfect execution.
Reporting Structure: This position formally reports to the Catering Manager.
Status: This is a non-exempt position. Annual Incentive paid quarterly. Tips
Knowledge

Essential Knowledge
- A food handling permit must be obtained within the first 14 days of employment.
- A valid driver’s license is required for catering deliveries.
- Minimum (6) months previous experience in catering or similar large group functions is required.
- Completion of ongoing training and development as listed on the Cosentino’s Learning Plan.
Non-Essential Knowledge
- A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Essential Job Functions
- Know and implement the Cosentino’s Customer Service Standards.
- Provide courteous, friendly, and expedient consulting to customers to identify all the pertinent needs of their event.
- Demonstrate detailed knowledge of available catering products when consulting with customers in order to make the most appropriate suggestions for their event.
- Clearly and concisely communicates with all team members in order to facilitate a smooth event for customers.
- Participate in all event set up, delivery, and execution with a sense of urgency and with an obvious focus on creating an event that is effortless for the customer.
- Resolve customer complaints in a professional manner and recognize when it is appropriate to involve the department manager or other member of higher management.
- Know and practice rotation procedures to ensure product dates are properly monitored.
- Able to operate, clean and maintain all equipment safely and competently.
- Meet or exceed productivity standards to produce desired team and individual results.
- Quickly unload incoming shipments and neatly stock them in their designated areas without damaging merchandise.
- Participate in the inventory process in a manner that is efficient and cost-effective to both company and customers.
- Know, comply with, and encourage other team members to comply with all health regulations, sanitation guidelines and safety procedures for your department and your store.
- Demonstrates the strong verbal and interpersonal skills necessary for positive customer and peer interactions.
- Demonstrates the basic math and reading skills required for the position.
Non-Essential Job Functions
- Supports the Catering Manager in marketing the catering aspect of the deli business to the surrounding community.
- Ensure all coolers, freezers and preparation areas are clean and set up in advance for deliveries.
- Support your company by completing additional tasks identified by management, assisting other stores or departments as needed and gaining new skills when necessary.

Physical Abilities
The following physical movements could potentially be part of any scheduled shift and employees will be expected to perform these actions while on duty.
Essential Abilities
- Reaching overhead with both arms up to a maximum of 72 inches, twisting at the waist and lifting objects with both hands weighing up to 20 lbs.
- Pushing and pulling grocery items to the proper locations as needed, up to a peak force of 50 lbs.
- Standing and walking for long periods of time on tile, asphalt, concrete or other hard surfaces.
- Occasionally lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.
- Bending and squatting, at times all the way to floor level.
- Able to work in colder conditions of the grocery coolers and freezers.
Non-Essential Abilities
- Climbing a ladder, possibly up to 5ft.

Pay: $18.00 - $19.00 per hour
