We are currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Project Accountant to join our financial team at Nettles Construction Solutions, Inc. Our Project Accountant will play a pivotal role in supporting the project team by overseeing various financial aspects, including contract modifications, compliance, payments, and reporting. This position reports to the Controller and will be the liaison between our finance and operations teams. The ideal candidate has a strong background in construction project accounting and is a detail-oriented person who possesses a comprehensive understanding of compliance requirements specific to construction projects.

Education/Experience
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field.
- Prefer 5 years of experience in project management.
- Prefer 3 years of experience in accounting.
- Prior experience in the construction industry is required.
- Strong communication skills with a focus on teamwork, initiative, and dependability.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
- Familiarity with Acumatica or similar accounting software preferred.
Core Job Functions
- Manage all accounting functions pertaining to assigned projects.
- Provide assistance and guidance to project teams on accounting-related matters.
- Oversee invoicing, payments, and compliance for designated projects.
- Possess a comprehensive understanding of compliance requirements specific to assigned projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Full project setup, including prequals.
- Collect and maintain records of compliance documents.
- Consistent follow-up and communication with customers throughout the term of project.
- Generate various job cost reporting including contract status, budgeting, and receivables.
- Track and report expenses.
- Manage change orders.
- Accurately manage designated timelines and work in process.
- AIA Reconciliation
- Billing
- Collections
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of subcontractor payments.
- Modify job cost reports as necessary.
- Lien Waiver Administration
- Perform other duties as assigned or as deemed necessary.
Physical Requirement
- Employee required to remain in a seated position for continuous periods of time.
- Employee required to work on a computer on a regular basis for continuous periods of time.
- Manual dexterity and use of hands and fingers.
- Employee required to raise or lower objects from one level to another occasionally during the day, 5 to 15 pounds.
- Employee required to walk considerable distances in the facility.
