***Physical office location is in Rockville, MD. This is a fully clinic-based position.***
*NOTE: Full-Time Schedule is 8:15am-6:45pm, four (4) days per week, with one weekday off.
Position: ABA Therapist / Registered Behavior Technician
Reports To: Managing Clinical Director
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Provide 1:1 and/or group behaviorally based treatment to children diagnosed with autism and/or other developmental delays in-home and/or school/community settings based on individualized programming.
- Implement structured and individualized programs developed by supervisors to address challenging behaviors with corrective and acceptable behaviors to include the areas of: Language, social, academic literacy, fine and gross motor skills, executive functioning, self-management, self-help, and age-appropriate play by expanding communities of reinforcement.
- Maintain accurate documentation, data and input data daily on all designated programs
- Receive and attend ongoing training opportunities in the field of ABA
- BCBA Student Mentorship Program - BCBA students receive paid restricted and unrestricted hours towards BCBA/BCaBA program with additional stipend
- Complete clinical and administrative tasks as designated by a supervisor
- Communicate effectively with all clients and staff
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's Degree or currently working towards a degree
- Registered Behavior Technician certification - if a candidate does not have a current RBT certification, Optimal Beginnings provides training and supervision to allow candidates to take the exam and obtain the credential. This must be completed within 60 days of hire.
- Experience/training in applied behavior analysis and autism spectrum disorders
- Experience working with typically developing children
- Must be energetic and love working independently, with a team and with individuals with developmental disabilities with autism and/or other developmental disabilities
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to use a variety of computer based programs including Microsoft Office
- Must be flexible, creative, and demonstrate strong organizational skills
- Must be highly motivated and self-directed
- Must maintain an active CPR certification throughout employment
- Background check required
Requirements :
- Must have reliable transportation and willing to travel around the specified geographic area
- Must be willing and able to sit on the floor with children and physically be able to lift children up if necessary (up to 80 pounds)
- Have an electronic device (smart phone, tablet or laptop) available to use in sessions.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $41,600.00 - $52,000.00 per year
