NVIC/CCC is seeking a Purchasing Specialist responsible for activities related to Supply Chain Management in relation to the purchasing and scheduling of materials, supplies, and services required. This position requires a degree of technical knowledge and the use of independent judgement.
Responsibilities for the Purchasing Specialist include:
- Document the receipt, issue, and ordering of spare parts to include pricing, usage, and proper inventory levels.
- Assist in locating spare parts from appropriate vendors and recommending cost savings.
- Issue and track Maintenance purchase orders for parts and supplies.
- Perform data entry of completed Maintenance work orders into company database
- Verify services, charges, price comparison, and date of delivery from vendors.
NVIC’s production facility includes vacuum process sand casting, gray iron foundry induction furnaces, finishing processes including grinding and painting, and CNC machining.
. Education/Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent 3 years work experience
- Maintenance Repair Operations (MRO) experience required
- Ability to negotiate pricing and perform complex comparative price and cost analysis
- Ability to use Windows based software, primarily Word and Excel
- Must have a strong sense of urgency and ability to work with limited supervision
