Back Office Medical Assistant
Responsibilities:
- Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and handling insurance forms.
- Prepare examination rooms and ensure they are clean and stocked with necessary supplies.
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures.
- Take patient vital signs, record medical histories, and update patient information in electronic health records.
- Collect and prepare laboratory specimens for testing.
- Perform basic medical procedures such as administering injections and medications.
- Coordinate referrals to other healthcare providers or specialists.
- Provide patient education on medication instructions, treatment plans, and preventive care.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a medical assistant training program or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency in medical terminology and knowledge of medical office procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
