Overview
The Material Planning Specialist is responsible for supplier management of the DPC issued purchase orders and ERP scheduling requirements, to coordinate suppliers and order execution by suppliers of multiple components, subassemblies, raw materials, finished goods, production equipment, and supplies from approved suppliers within the assigned commodity areas that are utilized to produce DPC Portfolio Finish Goods.
The Material Planning Specialist will be responsible for optimizing the procurement and sourcing supply chain, follow up of key KPIs and metrics and developing standard work and training others as may be required from a best practice perspective. Works as part of cross-functional team.
The Material planning Specialist will be responsible to maintain the data in the ERP system and support areas of past due purchase orders update, supplier lead times, BOM, routings and more to ensure the ERP system can operate accordingly to the Planer/ Buyer function.
Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible of data integrity supplier pricing, lead-times, terms, and conditions, obtaining validations, loading and maintaining them in the system.
- Coordinates purchase orders and demand signals issued from manufacturing plant in U.S. with local suppliers, based on different purchasing method, Kanban, MRP, Blanket getting supplier confirmation, updating system and inform production and planning any risk of supply, expediting supplier deliveries base on changes of demand signal
Communicate to suppliers in a daily/weekly basis, urgent requirements also near future demand 1-3 months, or their lead-time, get supplier confirmation requirements can be meet or get details of risk, capacity constraints, raw material constrains, to identify alternate solutions to avoid delays and shortages.
- Fast solving trouble process, quick communication and response to material shortages, supplier escalation, logistics expedite, alternate supply, expedite receipt and material flow to production in coordination with DPC Supply Chain

Utilize ERP system to provide demand data to supplier, demand history, usage, provide visibility of future demand orders and forecast so suppliers can proactively adjust plans to meet DPC requirements

Maintain strong supplier communication towards understand supplier process, supplier escalation contact, constrains which may impact deliveries to DPC

Collaborate with Purchasing Manager to suggest and implement enhancement to procurement process base on supplier performance, supplier capacity and constrains suggest different procurement methodology such us Kanban, VMI, ROP.

Act as liaison between DPC material requirement and supplier production capabilities, cycle time, weekly output rate, material, process, people constrains, to highlight gaps on supply and demand to promote the changes to align supply and demand
Assess and lead the development and deployment of material replenishment system with metal stamping suppliers, towards understand supplier capacity, cycle turn around, constrains then in collaboration with planning DPC understand gaps and drive changes on supply or demand to maximize alignment.
- Work closely with production, scheduling, warehouse, logistics, to understand changes on schedule, daily fluent communication of risk of material delays so team can react to adjust schedule which enable company to keep commit deliveries of product to DPC customers.

Partner with engineering and sourcing to identify alternate materials or local suppliers towards mitigate shortages, price increase, lead time increase or excess of raw material

Participate actively with product management providing purchase part information related to Engineering Changes, EOL, discontinuity etc.

Collaborate with quality to implement supplier score card to provide visibility of current supplier performance, raise and request supplier corrective actions towards to improve supplier performance
Qualifications – Skills and Experience

B.S. degree in Engineering, Business or Supply chain degree.

Minimum of 5-7 years’ supply chain and/or purchasing work experience in a manufacturing environment.

- Experience in vendor relations management with supplier of different commodities metal and aluminum, plastic, cables and wiring.

Experience leading and facilitating a cross-functional team between supplier, planning and procurement DPC team in geographically diverse locations

Problem Solving mindset with a focus in process optimization.

Continuous improvement and lean manufacturing mindset

CPIM/ APICS certification

Ability to multi- task, prioritize workload and manage under constrained time frames
