Job Summary:
The Electrical Component Buyer is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing electrical components and materials necessary for manufacturing and operations. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical components, market trends, supplier management, and procurement processes to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sourcing and Procurement:
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers of electrical components.
- Conduct market research to stay updated on industry trends and pricing.
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to ensure the availability of high-quality components at competitive prices.
- Supplier Management:
- Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers.
- Monitor supplier performance and ensure compliance with quality standards and delivery schedules.
- Resolve any issues related to delivery, quality, or pricing with suppliers.
- Inventory Management:
- Monitor inventory levels of electrical components and place orders to replenish stock as needed.
- Collaborate with the inventory management team to forecast demand and manage stock levels.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of all procurement activities.
- Cost Management:
- Analyze and manage procurement costs to meet budgetary requirements.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement cost reduction initiatives.
- Prepare and present cost analysis reports to management.
- Quality Assurance:
- Ensure that all purchased components meet the required specifications and quality standards.
- Work closely with the quality control team to address any quality issues.
- Compliance:
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and legal requirements.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry regulations and standards.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in purchasing/procurement of electrical components or related products.
- Strong knowledge of electrical components, suppliers, and market trends.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Certification in supply chain management (e.g., CPSM, CPIM).
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite).
