Position Summary:
The Director of Nursing is responsible for overseeing all aspects of nursing care across the campus. This leadership role includes managing the nursing staff, developing and implementing nursing policies and procedures, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated leadership skills, extensive clinical knowledge, and a strong commitment to providing high-quality care to our residents.
Qualifications:
- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) or Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) preferred.
- Minimum of five years of nursing experience, with at least three years in a leadership or management role.
- Strong knowledge of nursing practices, regulations, and standards of care.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to effectively manage and motivate a team.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Commitment to providing high-quality, resident-centered care.
- Experience in a long-term care or senior living setting is preferred.
- Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) and other healthcare technology.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the nursing department, including recruitment, training, supervision, and evaluation of nursing staff.
- Develop, implement, and monitor nursing policies, procedures and services to ensure high standards of care and make necessary adjustments where required.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, as well as accreditation standards.
- Collaborate with other departments to coordinate care and services for residents.
- Oversee the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of resident care plans.
- Ensure that nursing staff are properly trained and certified, providing ongoing education and development opportunities.
- Manage the nursing department budget, including staffing, supplies, and equipment.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of resident care and nursing activities.
- Address and resolve any issues or concerns related to resident care or nursing staff.
- Foster a positive and supportive work environment, promoting teamwork and professional growth, including regular meetings to discuss policies, procedures and trends.
- Participate in the development and implementation of strategic plans and goals for the facility.
- Serve as a liaison between residents, families, staff, and healthcare providers to ensure effective communication and coordination of care.
- Ensure that the facility is prepared for inspections and audits by regulatory agencies.
