Concrete carpenters build, install, and repair structures and fixtures made of wood, plywood, and wallboard, and create concrete forms to mold concrete for building structures. They often work on concrete floors, sidewalks, curbs, and other structures. Here are some of the duties of a concrete carpenter:
- Read blueprints Understand the dimensions and drawings to determine the correct shapes and dimensions for the formwork
- Make concrete forms Build and assemble forms for pouring concrete, and install reinforcing materials such as rebar and wire mesh
- Cut and shape materials Measure, mark, and cut materials to precise measurements, and shape or join materials using carpentry tools and techniques
- Pour and finish concrete Pour concrete, remove air bubbles, and smooth and finish the surfaces after the concrete sets
- Disassemble formwork Dismantle the formwork without damaging it so it can be used again
Concrete carpenters need experience in concrete and formwork construction. Our jobs require a background check, drug screening, and a valid driver's license.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.27 - $30.44 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
