Job Summary:
As the Production Manager, you will lead and optimize our manufacturing processes, ensuring efficiency, quality, and safety. Your role will involve managing a skilled team, implementing process improvements, and maintaining high standards of production.
_ Essential Duties:_
- Guarantee the achievement or surpassing of productivity targets and quality control benchmarks.
- Ensure consistent engagement with the shop floor team, actively leading, assisting, facilitating, and overseeing operations to maintain consistency.
- Manages ERP implementation on the shop floor, assisting with SOPs and directing employees to adhere to processes.
- Review prints to ensure projects align with our capabilities and expertise.
- Ensure all workers are properly trained and time standards are tracked.
- Identify and drive projects to completion.
- Assign work tasks to shear, punch, pem setters and weld, and follow production scheduling plan.
- Check prints on every job and make sure all components have been properly manufactured.
- Check enclosures for correct counts and profile, measure bend deductions and weld seams.
- Review in-process checks with QC department.
- Follow up with assembly to ensure the correct parts are being used by BOM and report any issues to QC.
- Provide a daily list of requested shop supplies to the Purchasing Manager.
- Manage work at an efficient pace to ensure enclosures are built correctly and scheduled due dates are met.
- Oversee smooth functionality and on-going maintenance of facility and production equipment.
- Ensure that expectations are documented and clearly communicated to each employee.
- Identify and resolve training issues with any shortfalls within first and second shift.
- Monitor attendance/performance and conduct reviews, implement corrective action plans as necessary.
- Conduct weekly production meetings with production team.
- Conduct monthly production meetings with department managers.
- Follow process for Scrap and Rework and complete forms and production reports daily.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the shop area.
- Ensure a safe working environment and communicate the importance of PPE.
- Conduct interviews, assess candidates, and make hiring decisions for new staff
Preferred Skills/Experience:
- Experience working in a leadership role within a manufacturing environment, sheet metal fabrication is a must.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience working in the sheet metal/fabrication industry.
- Proficiency in Lean Manufacturing principles, 5S methodology, and Six Sigma practices.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.

- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Strong understanding of production processes, quality control, and safety standards.
- Ability to read and comprehend prints.
- Proficiency in both English and Spanish is a plus
- Successfully pass equipment operation tests for shear, brake, punch, and laser machinery.
- Required to proficiently operate and troubleshoot shop equipment.
- Familiarity with ERP systems such as Acumatica and E2 is advantageous.
