NAEYC accredited Head Start Program serving the community for over 40 years is seeking a teacher to begin in August 2024. This center is located in a beautiful, large facility in the Williamsburg/Greenpoint area. An energetic, nurturing, and qualified educator is needed to join our multilingual staff that reflects the diversity of the families served.
The candidate must:
- have a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
- be responsible, positive, and creative.
- be familiar with child-directed, center-based learning.
- have excellent communication, planning, and organizational skills.

Job duties and responsibilities:
- Create a warm, welcoming and developmentally appropriate- classroom environment that supports the individual needs of children and encourages exploration, discovery, and learning.
- Plan and implement activities that support the social, emotional, physical, language, and cognitive development of each child based on the Creative Curriculum.
- Regularly observe, assess, and document each child’s health, skills, behavior, growth, and development using a variety of assessment tools and techniques.
- Develop a positive relationship with each child and promote the development of self-esteem and self-discipline.
- Maintain a well-organized, safe and attractive classroom environment conducive to the optimal growth and development of children.
- Communicate effectively with families, providing updates on their child's development and progress, and addressing any concerns or questions in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with fellow staff members, sharing ideas, resources, and best practices to promote a cohesive and supportive team environment.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations and guidelines, as well as our policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as required or assigned.

Pay: $42,000.00 - $68,000.00 per year
