We are a full service small animal hospital looking to build our exotics appointments! Our Veterinary Assistants play an integral role in providing excellent medical care to our patients and customer service to our clients. They need to possess good communication, organization, and multi-tasking skills in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate has 1-2 years of experience working in Vetmed.
Our Operating Hours: Monday-Friday 8:00 am-6:00 pm; Saturday 8:00 am-12:00 pm
***Ability to work Saturdays is required.

Essential Functions:
- Receive, handle, and treat patients with skill, compassion and care.
- Accurately perform laboratory tests.
- Ability to observe animal appearance and activity for general physical condition, obvious signs of illness, disease and discontent.
- Regular attendance and timeliness are an essential function in order to fulfill the requirements of this position.
- Strong communication and client service skill. Considerable tact and diplomacy is required. Ability to work with clients and patients in a professional, friendly, hospitable manner.
- Work well with all team members and ensure that your actions support the hospital, the doctors, and the medicine that we practice.
- Perform general physical activities that require bending, standing, stooping, moving from room to room, sit, talk, and listen; may be required to walk or stand for long periods of time; will use hands to manipulate, handle, or feel; will reach with hands and arms.
- Frequently lift, carry dogs weighing 50 lbs. Walk and handle dogs weighing up to and over 100 lb
Requirements/Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to work full-time/weekends
- Ability to properly lift/carry patients weighing up to 100 pounds; ability to lift or carry equipment over 40 pounds with assistance
- Practice OSHA safety techniques, including proper PPE
- Computer skills, MS Office applications, etc.

Pay: $12.00 - $14.00 per hour
