DATASYST is an internationally accredited, third-party engineering and testing laboratory. Based in Delafield, WI, DATASYST provides product development and verification testing for many Fortune 500 companies, as well as small business manufacturers. We specialize in a variety of data acquisition testing and environmental testing such as vibration, shock, fatigue, thermal shock, temperature cycling, etc.. All of our projects are performed on site in our 25,000 sq. ft. laboratory. Our objective is to provide our clients with superior customer satisfaction and a significant competitive advantage.
Position Description
We are excited to be seeking a qualified Test Engineer to join our team immediately! A successful individual will apply principles of mechanical and electrical engineering for specialized product testing. You will oversee setup, testing and reporting of various environmental and mechanical exposures of test samples. When needed, you will modify test designs to support the customers' goals. This position requires efficient communication with the customer and team members throughout the entire process of planning, design and testing to ensure quality customer care and accurate testing results.
A successful individual will enjoy working with a diverse set of customer devices, from medical equipment, to power tools to lighting, and performing a variety of product testing!
Requirements:
- Bachelors of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- 2+ years of relevant experience in product testing desired.
- Experience with hand tools and power tools required.
- Ability to multitask in a high volume environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate efficiently with team members, suppliers and customers.
- Uses reasoning to compare strengths and weaknesses to alternative solutions, conclusions and approaches.
- Exercises project responsibility.
- Knowledge of testing equipment such as environmental chambers, shakers, servo hydraulic actuators and data loggers is desired.
- Knowledge of various transducers such as: load cells, pressure, LVOT, access, volts is desired.
- Ability to apply knowledge during the design phase as well as the setup and testing phase.
- Strong observational skills, as it pertains to verifying test data and failure indicators to ensure proper testing parameters.
- Demonstrates advanced analytical skills needed to perform and gather data from testing.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Labview or other data acquisition software, Solidwork of other CAD system.
- Desire to learn on the job is required for this position; each week will bring triumphs and challenges.
Responsibilities
- Review and edit test plans to meet the requirements and capabilities of the company, customer and project.
- Conduct testing on a diverse set of products and adapt testing when needed to provide quality performance.
- Communicate effectively and often with customer and internal team throughout test process.
- Document vital information throughout the testing process including, but not limited to, project deviations, test run logs, observations and equipment calibrations and compose formal Test Reports as required by the customer in a professional manner.
- Design and/or fabricate fixtures for customer samples, when required.
- Correctly allocate all labor and machine time used in the appropriate project.
- Generate an accurate report of testing in a timely manner.
- Communicate with customers on specifics of test setup and sample function requirements.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
