The Dock Lead position provides an opportunity, in a retail setting, to excel in a growing, fast paced, customer/donor focused role, working both independently and as a member of a team, to positively impact the lives of others.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates GWH's Core Values in all actions.
- Ensures adherence to Guiding Principles and CARF standards.
- Processes product and salvage efficiently and effectively based on GWH's needs and adapts to changes in commodities processing as assigned.
- Completing the daily trailer and equipment counts.
- Communicating and working with Transportation to fulfill logistical needs.
- Completing all salvage paperwork and communicating with salvage leadership.
- Bales merchandise, identify and demonstrate the understanding of items that can be baled together or items that cannot be baled but should be process separately.
- As assigned, sort totes and processes each tote with a sense of urgency.
- Assist in efficient movement of goods in the warehouse to and from storage or production areas, and in the loading and unloading of trucks with the aid of material handling equipment as needed.
- Operates assigned material handling equipment in a safe and prudent manner in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas and GWH safety policies and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Experience in warehouse setting preferred.
- Previous Supervisor experience preferred.
- Effectively use computer applications, including electronic mail, word processing, spreadsheets, GPS, Internet/Intranet, and other applications as determined appropriate by GWH.
- Must be able to become forklift certified, or prior experience operating a forklift.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with team leader, team members, customers, and clients.
- Skill of operation monitoring, watching indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.
- Ability to work under general supervision and/or independently.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
Physical Requirements/Work Environment:
The ability to continuously stand/walk for duration of shift, frequently push/pull, occasionally bend/stoop/crawl/kneel/reach above shoulders and climb a ladder. Able to lift, up to, 40 lbs. (fixture parts, cartons of product).
