Position Overview
The V.P. of sales is responsible for proactively updating account(s) on market trends, new items, current items, and promotions. Develops strategies to identify product gaps and opportunities and presents concepts at initial meetings. Responsible for sales and margin growth within the customer account base. Establishes successful business partnerships with buyers and senior management of retail accounts. Acts as a key point-of-contact within the organization, passing along relevant information internally and externally. Responsible for communicating sales projects including items, pricing, store count changes, rate of sale, color, size, brand, and packaging to the appropriate product division. Tracks progress of all directives and communicates any issues that prevent timelines from being met. This position involves occasional travel throughout the year to attend account sales meetings and trade shows.
Essential Job Functions
Accounts:
- Establish successful business partnerships with buyers and senior management of retail accounts.
- Increase sales and margin growth.
- Resolve complex customer
- Manages daily activities of the operational sales function.
- Oversees workflow of all business processing including preparation of reports, charts and other statistics to support and direct the sales department.
- Develop and implement promotional events and interact with customers to increase sales volume.
Administration:
- Acts as a key point-of-contact within the organization, passing along relevant information internally and externally.
- Responsible for communicating sales projects including items, pricing, store count changes, rate of sale, color, size, brand, and packaging to the appropriate product division.
- Develop strategies for the sales team
- Act as liaison with the warehouses to analyze and service the independent accounts and budgeted accounts.
- Supports monthly budget by monitoring open orders to availability of inventory.
Sales Promotion/Product Development:
- Work with sales teams to conceive, develop, implement, market and sell creative merchandising programs.
- Initiate and coordinate account projects re: packaging, promotion, products, fixturing, signage, and secondary merchandiser opportunities
- Manage the communication and coordination of efforts regarding projects and issues that require multi divisional input.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's level degree
- Experience: 5 – 7 years in the field or in a related area
- Specialized Knowledge, Licenses, etc.: Intermediate to advanced skill set with Excel and MS office products. Experience with Access and/or SAP a plus. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Understanding of the retail market place.
- Working Conditions: Remote and based in the Bay Area of California.
- Other Skills/Abilities: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to structure deals and develop strong client relationships. Strong negotiation skills with the ability to use advanced judgment in problem solving.
Salary Range- $120,000.00 to $130,000.00
