SUMMARY: The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for creating and maintaining a safe and suitable working environment for employees and clients while ensuring facilities are clear of hazards both inside and outside of the building. The Facilities Maintenance Technician will need to be able to attend to multiple facility related concerns involving both workers/clients and their working/living environment, requiring good organizational and multi-tasking skills.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintaining day-to-day operations of facilities, such as delegating or completing maintenance orders
- Monitoring the safety and cleanliness of interior and exterior areas, such as offices, conference rooms, parking lots and outdoor recreation spaces
- Inspecting and repairing minor electrical and plumbing issues while discerning whether facility repairs can be done internally or must be outsourced
- Coordinate and perform janitorial duties and maintain grounds
- As requested , work with Kitchen team to adequate catering and vending services
- Undertaking building and grounds maintenance, including management of lawn cutting and snow renewal services. Coordinate these services with Operations Manager.
- Perform weekly inspections of buildings and maintain documentation of inspections and take approbation actions to address needed repairs.
- Proactively monitor air conditioning units and laundry appliances including changing filters and trouble shoot issues requiring repairs while collaborating with Operations Manager.
- Managing waste disposal systems by coordinating with Septic removal companies as needed.
- Ensuring a constant Security presence in coordination with Chief Administrative Officer
- Managing parking facilities and ensuring space is available for staff and visitors
- Overseeing refurbishments and renovations to existing and new facilities including minor touch up painting
- Coordinate office moves in collaboration with the Chief Administrative Officer
- Keep appropriate documentation and develop and maintain a Maintenance Schedule of internal equipment
- Creating reports on maintenance, repairs, safety and other occurrences for supervisors and other relevant staff
- Collaborating with building owners and upper management on budgeting for facilities needs
- Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent certificate.
- Basic Proficiency with hand and power tools, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, equipment repair, and painting.
- Valid and appropriate driver's license with driving record in good standing.
- 2+ years in facilities management.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must demonstrate understanding of special treatment needs of women substance abusers in a residential treatment setting and show evidence of empathy, sensitivity, and maturity.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk and hear.
