Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Secondary Social Studies/History (Grade 6-12) Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for education and possess expertise in learning outcomes to provide high-quality instruction to high school students. Previous AP (College Board) experience a plus.
Job Duties
- Effectively teach students across multiple sections by implementing lesson plans, delivering engaging and insightful lessons, and ensuring student learning of established curriculum using company tools;
- Demonstrate ownership and alignment with school quality standards when working with students, parents, colleagues or others;
- Maintain a courteous and positive demeanor in every interaction when responding to a wide range of inquiries from students, parents, and colleagues;
- Provide ongoing monitoring of student progress intervening as needed to address gaps and deliver remediation;
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that fosters student growth and development
- Collaborate with peers and administrators in a professional, positive, and student-focused manner;
- Utilize effective teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of students
- Conduct assessments to evaluate student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly
- Provide essential proctoring services during periods of student testing including maintaining a secure testing environment, setting up student testing materials, completing assessment training, and facilitating the test;
- Maintain a strong and supportive school culture by supporting school recruitment, retention, and community outreach goals; and
- Attending school sponsored events as required
- All other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Education or related field; Master's degree preferred
- Teaching certification or license in the relevant subject area
- Experience in lesson planning, curriculum use, pacing, and classroom management
- Knowledge of educational administration principles and practices
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual student needs
