Summary: Perform work involving the skills of two or more maintenance or craft occupations to keep machines, mechanical equipment, or the structure of a building in repair. Duties may involve pipe fitting; HVAC maintenance; insulating; welding; machining; carpentry; repairing electrical or mechanical equipment; installing, aligning, and balancing new equipment; and repairing buildings, floors, or stairs.

Responsible for performing routine maintenance, such as inspecting drives, motors, or belts, checking fluid levels, replacing filters, or doing other preventive maintenance actions.

Will need to diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs, as necessary.

Responsible for repairs on machines, equipment, or structures, using tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, wrenches, or equipment such as precision measuring instruments or electrical or electronic testing devices.

Responsible for assembling, installing, or repairing wiring, electrical or electronic components, pipe systems, plumbing, machinery, or equipment.

Responsible for cleaning or lubricating shafts, bearings, gears, or other parts of machinery.

Responsible for adjusting functional parts of devices or control instruments, using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, or straightedges.

Responsible for ordering parts, supplies, or equipment from catalogs or suppliers.

Responsible for planning and laying out repair work, using diagrams, drawings, blueprints, maintenance manuals, or schematic diagrams.

Responsible for painting or repairing roofs, windows, doors, floors, woodwork, plaster, drywall, or other parts of building structures.

Responsible for installing equipment to improve the energy or operational efficiency of residential or commercial buildings.

Responsible for providing grounds keeping services, such as landscaping.

May be required to assist other departments as necessary.

Responsible for following all safety regulations at all work areas and job sites.

Responsible for representing Thompson Pump & Manufacturing Co., Inc. in a professional, respectful, honest, and courteous manner with customers and co-workers.

The ability to work productively in teams as well as individually.
Qualifications:

High School diploma or GED required.

Trade school graduate preferred.
-
Minimum two years of responsible maintenance experience required.

Working knowledge of basic electrical systems.

Basic electrical, carpentry, painting, landscaping, and general construction skills.

Must be able to read and understand Thompson Pump & Manufacturing Co., Inc. Employee Handbook, safety plans, safety training, and SDS sheets.
-
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
-
Must be able to read and understand various service manuals, electrical diagrams, and troubleshooting guides.

Basic math skills; ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure.

Proficient in the use of precision measuring devices.
