About Us and Vision of Financial Planning Assistant
Mayfield Financial Services (MFS) is a well-established and growing financial advisory firm in Mayfield Heights, Ohio. Our current Team is made up of accountants (CPA’s), financial advisors (CFP’s), an investment manager (CFA), and a health insurance/Medicare specialist. Our philosophy is different from other firms in that we take a team and collaborative approach to developing comprehensive financial solutions utilizing the combined expertise of our Team Members. Our professionals work closely with one another because we believe that “There is no expertise without collaboration.”
Due to our continued and anticipated growth, we are looking to add an individual as a financial planning assistant.
This individual will enjoy the benefit of collaborative insight among our financial planning, wealth management and tax professionals. Basic financial planning skills and knowledge are expected, but most importantly, this individual should have the commitment to learn from the current planners on the team to strengthen your skills. Communication with customers, customer service and relationship management skills are essential and will be developed.
The vision of this position is for this individual to work directly with the financial planners to learn our financial planning process and customer service model. The individual will become familiar with our planning philosophies, study our systems, collaborate with the other professionals on the team, then ideally, develop the proper skills to join our team as a full-time financial planner post-graduation.
Job Duties
The position will start with a training period where the daily duties will be directly assisting and shadowing the financial planners. Daily duties include, but are not limited to:
· Assist in on-boarding process of new customer referrals
· Schedule customer meetings
· Gather information and documents for meeting preparation
· Review and assist team members and customers in completion of action items
· Develop and maintain customer roadmaps
· Prepare initial agendas for customer meetings
· Maintain eMoney software accuracy and develop presentation analysis
· Assist with creation of value proposition summaries and pricing of relationships
· Develop and maintain personal financial plans
· Develop planning strategies in collaboration with other team members
· Develop asset allocation modeling for customer investment accounts
· Shadow and participate in customer meetings
· Post meeting planning and follow up with customers
· Review tax projections with the accountant assigned to the relationship
· Present strategies in customer meetings
· Daily communication with planners in preparation of future weeks meetings
· Daily communication with customers via email and/or phone call
Education and skills anticipated to acquire and develop:
· The holistic Financial Planning process including:
o Investment Planning
o Retirement Income Planning
o Social Security & Medicare Planning
o Tax Planning
o Estate Planning
o Insurance Planning
o Debt Management
· Develop written personal financial plans
· Develop knowledge of working with small business owners
· Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
· Knowledge of eMoney software
· Knowledge of employer benefits and enrollment
· Develop a base knowledge of tax planning and strategies while working as a team with accountants on customer relationships
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
