SUMMARY:
The Business Development Manager reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer. As a Business Development Manager specializing in chemical sales, you will play a pivotal role in driving revenue growth and expanding our market presence. You will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, nurturing existing client relationships, and developing strategic partnerships to achieve sales targets and drive long-term business success.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:1. Business Development:
· Develop and implement strategic sales plans to expand our customer base and increase market share.
· Identify and pursue new business opportunities through proactive networking, customer visits, convention and trade show attendance, cold calling, and other targeted outreach efforts as required.
· Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and influencers within target industries.
2. Client Relationship Management:
· Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing clients to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty.
· Act as a trusted advisor to clients, providing product expertise, industry insights, and solutions to meet their needs.
· Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams to ensure seamless delivery of products and services to clients.
3. Proposal Development and Negotiation:
· Prepare compelling sales proposals, presentations, and pitches tailored to the needs of prospective clients.
· Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms of agreements in collaboration with sales and legal teams.
4. Sales Forecasting and Reporting:
· Track sales activity and performance metrics to forecast future sales and revenue projections.
· Prepare regular sales reports and presentations for the Chief Financial Officer, highlighting key achievements, challenges, and opportunities.
5. Market Research and Analysis:
· Conducting thorough market research to identify potential clients, industry trends, and competitive offerings.
· Analyze market data to identify emerging opportunities and areas for growth within the chemical industry.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor's degree in business administration, Chemistry, or related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
· Proven track record of success in chemical sales or business development, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
· In-depth knowledge of the chemical industry, including market dynamics, products, applications, and regulatory requirements.
· Strong business acumen with the ability to identify and capitalize on market opportunities.
· Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
· Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute effective sales strategies.
· Results-oriented with a demonstrated ability to meet and exceed sales targets.
· Ability to travel as needed.
