The Carpenter Journeyman must be able to both perform construction work and lead other employees and subcontractors in doing quality project work. Responsibilities include assisting the Field Foreman in the completion of the project by ensuring the job is on schedule, within budget and ensuring they are performing the work safely. Maintain strong working relationships with the team and any subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities*
To perform this job successfully, the employee must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and in a timely manner. The following duties are representative of the job but are not all inclusive and other duties may be assigned as needed.
- Constructing concrete forms to aid the construction team in erecting various concrete structures.
- Performing repairs on existing framework structures that are damaged or structurally unsound.
- Accurately measuring, cutting, and shaping lumber, wood, and other building materials.
- Attaching building materials using screws, nails, nuts, and bolts.
- Examining building materials to identify any defects.
- Perform day-today carpentry activities.
- Assist with required reports and records, including daily reports, pre-task plans, quantity tracking, pour plans, and equipment inspections.
- Erecting temporary structures such as scaffolds and hoists
- Guarantee all safety precautions and quality standards are met
- Use of machinery and equipment to aid in the completion of carpentry activities
- Responsible for adhering to all Pence Kelly safety requirements, OSHA, and Environmental regulations.
- Performing sit cleanup to ensure a clean and safe work environment
- Help create a positive working environment for all site personnel.
- Assist in any additional duties as requested by project team leadership

Qualifications*
The following qualifications are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to perform the job but are not all inclusive:
- At least 4 years of experience in the construction industry preferred
- In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment, and OSHA guidelines
- Must have, or complete within six months of hire, CPR and first aid certifications and OSHA 10 training.
- Valid driver’s license and transportation to and from project site.
- Good physical condition and stamina
- Able to work within tight deadlines
- Must be available to work flexible hours. Work hours will be consistent with a Carpenter in the construction industry.

Work Conditions*
Works on job sites where work is done in a job trailer or outside in a construction environment. Will be exposed to weather, dirt/dust, loud noise, and is required to wear personal protective equipment. Is required to lift 40 lbs regularly and 80 lbs occasionally. May occasionally be in a typical office environment but rare. Must be able to work for periods of time in front of a computer.
