Applicants must be certified as a Medical Assistant by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or registered as a Medical Assistant by the American Medical Technologists (AMT). Due to being a Rural Health Clinic, this is a requirement.
You will be responsible for providing administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the medical office. You will support doctors and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization and communication. The target is to complete all activities accurately, with high quality and in a timely manner.
Must have or obtain a valid BLS Certification.
Responsibilities
- Maintains a professional demeanor with patients, caregivers and coworkers.
- Maintain patient confidentiality, adhering to HIPAA regulations.
- Prepare necessary paperwork as ordered by the physician.
- Assist with clinical telephone calls.
- Assist with rooming patients and obtain vital signs.
- Assist the physician with minor surgical procedures.
- Immunizations with working knowledge of MCIR
- Assist with check in, check out, referrals, prior authorizations, records release, medication refills.
- Function as a team member to facilitate the patient experience and optimal workflow within the office, including assisting other terms as needed.
- Communicate and interact with peers, other departments, patients and other medical facilities in a positive, professional manner.
