<p>The Medical Assistant assists licensed nursing personnel in the pre and post-operative care to the patient by performing routine and delegated tasks. Must be bilingual to apply. QUALIFICATIONS: Certification as a nursing assistant (preferred) or certified medical assistant (preferred);POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: ;The Medical Assistant is a member of the Ambulatory Surgery Center, reporting directly to the Director of Surgery and interacting cooperatively with physicians and other personnel. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES: 1. Supports the philosophy, goals and objectives of the Organization. 2. Contributes to the progress and development of the Organization’s adopted Quality Management Program. ;3. Communicates effectively with patients, visitors, physicians and co-workers. ;4. Maintains professional competence by participating in continuing education and other learning experiences. 5. Adheres to safety policies and procedures in performing job duties and responsibilities. ;6. Assists licensed nursing personnel in providing perioperative care to the patient. 7. Applies technical and specialized skills relevant to pre/postoperative nursing. ;8. Displays knowledge of the requirements for instruments, supplies and equipment maintenance. 9. Other duties as assigned. ;REQUIRED SKILLS: &;Aptitudes: Requires audio and verbal acuity adequate to communicate with coworkers, staff, physicians, patient and visitors. Ability to organize.
